06 Module 06, The Chain

A real carbon estimate for every garment, before and after it is made.

Factory CO2 records Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for each of your factories, from boilers and electricity to commuting and waste. Every submission calculates a CO2e total automatically.

Use it at design stage or after production, the estimate updates either way.

What it does

Carbon data you can actually use while designing

Most carbon reporting happens after a garment is already made. Product CO2 is built to be useful earlier than that.

Scope 1, direct emissions

Boilers, generators, and factory-owned vehicles, from diesel and petrol to natural gas and coal.

Scope 2, purchased energy

Total electricity consumption, supplier, and grid region, with optional electricity statements attached.

Scope 3, indirect emissions

Employee commuting, business travel, refrigerants, purchased equipment, and waste disposal.

Automatic CO2e totals

Save the submission and the system calculates the factory's CO2e emissions for reporting and comparison.

How it works

Four steps, from fuel and energy to footprint

Built to slot into design decisions, not just end-of-year reporting.

  1. Step 01

    Open Factory CO2

Choose the factory and enter reporting period, floor area, and operational hours.

  2. Step 02

    Complete Scope 1 and 2

Fuel burned on site, plus purchased electricity and its grid region.

  3. Step 03

    Complete Scope 3 and waste

Commuting, travel, refrigerants, and waste quantities by material type.

  4. Step 04

    Save and calculate

Click Save & Calculate CO2e, and the system totals the factory's emissions.

Product CO2 pulls sourcing data from Supply Chain Transparency and factory data from Factory Rating, then feeds its finished estimate straight into Product Life Cycle and the garment's DPP.
