UNDERSTAND IT

Throughout. Monitoring, tracking and understanding the environmental and ethical impact.

PROGRESS SO FAR.

Stage 2 sampling comments.

    • Material is too soft for the laptop structure. Either add a stronger backing or reduce size to be a snug fit.

    • Zip was sewn in well and and was bound with cotton. This felt too bulky but the material could handle the layers.

Stage 1 sampling comments.

Based on Sampling visit Dec 2021. Using results as a guide for project next steps.

    • No problem with material cutting using fabric scissors.

    • No damage to the foot, no snapped needles.

    • Sewing tension needed to be at Denim level. Puckering was seen on some seams.

  • Embroidery worked on all the material bases. The base needed to be added so the material didn’t stretch. Size of embroidery may be an issue.

  • The heat from printing was an issue. Need to work on material finishing. Focus on inside printing for branding?

  • The ‘leather look’ base worked with metal snaps. The material without a base stretched and will rip.
